Cheeseburger Sliders

Cheeseburger sliders are mini versions of the classic American cheeseburger. They're small enough to eat two or three and large enough to deliver all the same flavors. Juicy beef, melty cheese, soft buns, onions and a bright condiment bite.

Recipe Notes

Cheeseburger Sliders Tips

  1. Use 80/20 ground beef (20% fat) for juicy burgers.
  2. Make sure to cook the meat well as it won't be cooking further in the oven.
  3. For quicker sliders and to feed a crowd, use the Hawaiian sweet rolls style buns.
  4. Adding one or two layers of cheese is completely optional and up to your taste.
  5. Make sure to add any other buger toppings you like on your cheeseburger like tomatoes, pickles, or lettuce.
  6. Cover the sliders always before baking to avoid the bread from drying out and to help the cheese melt quicker.
  7. It's best to enjoy sliders right away, or prepare and bake just 15 minutes before serving.
  8. Dips are sliders best friend! We have them dipped here in our Chili Oil Recipe!! As unusual as it sounds, it was actually  SO GOOD!!!

Variations & serving ideas

  • Bacon cheddar sliders: top with crispy bacon and smoked cheddar.
  • Mushroom Swiss burger sliders: sauté mushrooms and top with Swiss cheese, follow our popular Mushroom Swiss Burger.
  • Gourmet: caramelized onions, gruyère, Truffle Aioli, blue cheese and arugula.
  • Mediterranean: Feta, basil pesto, sun dried tomatoes and olives. Try them with Harissa Aioli too!

What is the best ground beef for sliders?

Using an 80 beef/20 fat blend creates juicy sliders that don't feel oily. You can use a 90/10 as well, and probably add extra cheese for that option. Other meats we LOVE include lamb, ground chicken or turkey, leftover cooked meats work great here too.

How do you keep sliders from falling apart?

Th bread keept the sliders intact, that's why it's great to slice the bread lengthwise as shown in the video and images here. And then be gerus with the cheese! Cheese keeps the sliders in tact, so we added a double layer. Cover them during baking anf you can optionally slice between the grooves as the bread comes out of the oven.

Should I toast the buns?

Not necessarily! We don't toast the buns as we will place them in the oven. They will crisp up slightly with the flavored butter so you don't need that extra step.

What cheese melts best on sliders?

While any cheese works great, we love the classic cheeseburger flavors. So we use American, cheddar, or cheddar-jack cheeses. They melt quickly and evenly compared to Swiss or Gruyère.

Can I make sliders ahead for a party?

Yes absolutely! That's the best part actually! You will prepare the meat, assemble the sheet pan bread and brush the tops with the heb butter. Then cover it with foil and set it aside. Half an hour before serving, you'll need to preheat the oven and warm up the sliders to melt the cheese.

How long should I cook sliders?

Since the  beef is already cooked, you will basically be heating up the bread, meat and melting the cheese. Usually a 15-17 minutes in a 375 degrees F oven is all you need.
