Birria Recipe Tips

  1. Make sure to read and watch the full tutorial on Birria Tacos or Lamb Birria before planning for this recipe. You'll find all the info you need there on ingredients, time, different ways to cook birria and so much more!!
  2. Planning ahead is KEY here, and making a double batch of Birria so that you can enjoy leftovers is a BONUS!
  3. The choice of noodles is completely up to you! As long as you choose your favorite brand, you'll enjoy this!
  4. Make sure to drench the noodles in birria consommé because that's seriously where the flavor is! It makes for a saucy Ramen and a flavor packed one!
  5. The birria stew has to be super hot before pouring it into the noodles to make sure the flavors infuse.
  6. Enjoy the shredded melt in your mouth meat generously as this is the highlight of birria!
  7. The toppings and other add-ons are totally your choice--I chose the basic birria toppings today, however you can add other ramen toppings you like with that!
  8. Try this Spicy Ramen Bowl for the original way I enjoy ramen!

What is Birria ramen made of?

As simple as the name implies, it's a ramen dish that's drenched with Birria consommé (stew made with adobo, tomatoes, chillies, spices, vinegar and stock). Plus shredded Birria meat (goat, beef or lamb) cooked in that stew.

What do you do with birria broth?

This is the best way to use leftover Birria consomé! You can also use it to cook beans, chicken or as a base rich sauce for any dish.

Who invented ramen birria?

The dish was invented by a chef in Mexico City and has become so popular at his restaurant, and eventually lots of people attempted to make this tasty dish at home!

Can you reheat birria ramen?

Absolutely! You can choose to reheat the stew really well and assemble it to the cooked noodles, or you can simply microwave  leftovers in the bowl for another serving!
