If you have never made air fryer fish before you are in for a treat. This appliance provides the perfect way to cook crispy fish. I used this air fryer fish recipe recently and decided to make some fish tacos with video for you!.
Thaw the pickerel fillets overnight in your fridge and pat them dry using a paper towel.
Take a kitchen sheer and cut each fillet into three pieces.
In a shallow plate, mix the panko coating ingredients and set them aside.
In a deeper bowl, mix the fish coating ingredients.
Using a silicone or pastry brush, brush one side of the fish pieces with the fish coating mixture.
Using a tong, place the coated side of the fish fillet on the panko bowl and press down so the breadcrumbs stick onto the fish.
Now brush the top part of the fish using the same fish coating mixture and flip that side onto the panko bread crumbs to coat as well.
Make sure the bread crumbs coat both sides of the fish really well.
Place the coated fish on an air fryer basket and repeat with the remaining pieces of fish.
Preheat the air fryer to 400 for 2 minutes.
Divide the oil between the fish fillets giving each a light drizzle before placing the air fryer basket in the air fryer.
Cook the fish for 8 minutes and then flip the fillets and cook for an extra 3-4 minutes.
At that point, the fish is ready to serve with fries or salad or on its own!
If you wish to make the tacos follow these extra steps: Char some tortillas, drizzle some chipotle sauce, add chopped cilantro, chopped tomatoes, and avocados, layer the fish over that, and top with extra sauce, salsa, and fresh toppings of your choice.
