Hasselback Sweet Potatoes: tender, sweet, tasty sweet potatoes that are sliced thin, dressed in either a sweet or savory seasoning and baked till tender. MUST Make Holiday Side dish this year!
The first step is to wash your sweet potatoes and dry them well.
Use two chopsticks to help slice the sweet potatoes in to a hasselback.
Place the chopsticks ate the bottom of the cutting surface.
Securly place the sweet potatoes, one at a time over the chopsticks.
Use a sharp knife and cut 1/4 inch slices. The chopsticks will guide you not to cut all the way through as they wil force you to stop.
You should have an accordion shaped sweet potato like this.
Mix the savory mix in a bowl. Add more or less of your favorite ingreidents.
Mix the sweet mix in a separate bowl.
Drench some of the sweet potatoes, in between the slices and all around with the savoory mix.
The remaining sweet potatoes are to be drenched with the sweet seasoning for those who prefer a sweet taste with their sweet potatoes.
Wrap each of the sweet potatoes individually in foil and place them in the basket of your air fryer.
Air fry at 400 degreesF for 40-45 minutes, flipping the sweet potatoes halfway.
Alternatively, you can bake them in a preheated 425 degrees F oven, wrapped in foil the same way. Place them in a single layer on a baking sheet and rost, flipping them halfway for 50-60 minutes until tender.
Once cooked and tender, remove the sweet potatoes, unwrap the foil.
Drench extra savory butter over the savory seasoned ones.
And sweet butter over the sweet seasoned ones.
ENJOY
You can prepare the recipe and bake, then store it in the fridge (wrapped in the same foil) for 5 days. When ready to serve, simply reheat it in a 350 degrees F oven for 15 minutes. Alternatively reheat it in the air fryer for 8-9 minutes.
