This quick zesty herb tilapia recipe is simple, flavorful, really quick, and a perfect way to enjoy a seafood dinner. Flakey cooked tilapia is topped with lemon herb butter and served on a bed of quinoa flavored with the same butter. It’s a main and side that take 15 minutes start to finish, giving you more time to unwind and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces tilapia fillets
  • 1/4 tsp . salt
  • 1/4 tsp . pepper
  • 1 Tbsp .extra virgin olive oil
  • Lemon Herb Butter Ingredients
  • 3 Tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 1 Tbsp . fresh parsley , minced
  • 1 Tbsp .fresh basil , minced
  • 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Take the fillets and season them with salt and pepper.
  2. Over medium high heat, place a skillet with the olive oil for a minute until hot.
  3. Place the tilapia fillets in the skillet and sear them for 3 minutes, flip them and cook them for 2 minutes.
  4. Cover the skillet and lower the heat to medium low. Let the fish cook through completely for about 2 minutes extra.
  5. Remove the fish from the skillet and serve topped with a teaspoon of the lemon herb butter.
  6. Alternatively, you can bake the fish for 10 minutes in the middle rack of a 450 degreed F oven for 10-14 minutes.
