  • 1 garlic clove finely minced or grated using a microplane
  • 1/2 cup fresh herbs basil, parsley, thyme, rosemary (combined or whichever you have on hand) all chopped or minced finely ( according to your taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tsp lemon zest

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix all the ingredients together, taste and adjust seasoning.
  2. Use it right away for a soft spreadable cream cheese texture or wrap the mixture into a log with wax paper and chill for at least 1 hour or freeze for 20 minutes.

Recipe Notes

Room temperature cream cheese is a must! If you're rushed on time, you can microwave the cream cheese for 30-45 seconds.

Any herb and garlic cream cheese combination works beautifully! Lemon zest is optional for an extra tang.

If you're looking for inspiration, try adding basil pesto with sun dried tomatoes and scallions.

The herb cream cheese can keep for up to 2 weeks.
