Veggie Burger with Crunchy Asian Slaw

This mouthwatering Veggie Burger recipe is hearty, filling, delicious and totally fool proof. Paired with a crunchy set mango Asian slaw, it’s like a burger party!

Ingredients

  • For the Burgers:
  • 4 Veggie Burgers Sol Cuisine Extreme Grilled
  • 4 Veggie Burgers Sol Cuisine Wild Mushroom Rice
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 8 Pretzel Buns charred on the BBQ
  • For the Asian Slaw:
  • 3 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Mangos
  • 1 cup shredded Carrots
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 cup chopped scallions
  • 1/4 cup chopped chillies or jalapeños
  • Asian Slaw Dressing:
  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chilli paste
  • pinch salt
  • Asian Burger Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup Mayo can also use Vegan Mayo
  • 1 teaspoon chili paste
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • Assembling the Burger
  • Pretzel Buns
  • Burger Sauce —Recipe above
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 2 shallots sliced
  • 2 avocados sliced
  • 1 cup soy sprouts
  • Sol Cuisine Burgers grilled

Instructions

  1. Unpack the Sol Cuisine Burgers and use them frozen.
  2. Brush them slightly on both sides with oil.
  3. Preheat the BBQ to medium low heat
  4. Start grilling the burgers for 6-8 minutes per side, keeping the BBQ lid closed.
  5. In the meantime, prepare the Asian slaw by mixing all ingredients together.
  6. Make the Slaw dressing in a bowl by mixing all ingredients together.
  7. Pour the about two thirds of the dressing over the slaw if you’re making the slaw ahead of time. Otherwise use all the dressing (see notes).
  8. Char your pretzel buns for 2 minutes on the grill and prepare the burger sauce by mixing all ingredients in a bowl.
  9. Assemble the veggie burger: Place a bottom bun, burger sauce, cilantro, shallots, sprouts, avocado slices and Sol Cuisine burgers, then finish with the top bun.
  10. Enjoy!!!

Pick a variety of Sol Cuisine burgers (they’ve been on the market for over 20 years!) so you end up with quality, gourmet and good for you tasty plant based burgers.

Brush the burgers with oil before grilling.

Cook from frozen over medium low heat, don’t charr the burgers too soon.

The burgers are ready with they’re slightly golden and feel tender to the touch.

The Asian slaw and dressing can be prepared ahead of time (2 days in advance).

You can use pre-shredded slaw mix for quicker prep.

Serve this burger party with some grilled peaches, one cream and berries for easy, tasty summer entertaining!
